# 13 ... The 'Tree of Life' - Identity of Ahmedabad

This arched window made of stone grill belongs to the Siddi Sayid Mosque. It was the last significant monument of the Sultanate period. Although it was never completed, these exquisite stone grilles of its arched windows are famous across the world for their fine tracery work. The delicate "tree of life" motif has become the distinguishing symbol of Ahmedabad. The builder, whose grave is in the forecourt, was a noble belonging to the Siddi community.

#8 ... City Gates

Gate to the old walled city of Ahmedabad. I had no idea of it's importance when I shot it. Built in 141 AD.

Great, isn't it?
